Yesterday morning at my monthly MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) meeting we had a "Tea and Testimony" day. Our table leader did a nice job of preparing a very fancy table for us with delicious vanilla caramel tea and desserts. My pathetic group has shrunk from 9 to only 4, but the four we had were more able to talk intimately, which was nice. We heard four women share stories of how they have recently begun their journey of faith in God and how he has started working in their lives, often through MOPS. They cried, I cried, we all cried. It was a Kleenex-fest. I don't talk too much about my faith here on this blog, but it is hugely meaningful to me, and getting the chance to talk about it with three wonderful ladies of different faith backgrounds was fantastic.
My knee pain has really been bringing me down the past few days, discouraging me after I had made so much progress in running recently. I keep seeking advice and getting all kinds of different opinions, so it's hard to know what to do. I have brand new shoes and a knee brace which I always wear when I run. I have been icing and resting and popping Advil all week. Shopping in high heels yesterday almost killed me. Yoga on Tuesday helped ease some pain, but it's not completely gone. When I asked my yoga-nazi girl about it she got kinda snobby on me and said I shouldn't have pain from running if I run with proper form. She told me to go hire a running coach to correct my form.
On a positive note, I went shopping for some spring clothes last night and found two basic pieces to add to my wardrobe. One pair of Levi's denim capris and one pair of Dockers khaki capris. Both a size smaller than I normally wear. And guess how much the khakis cost? Regularly p riced $34.99. Sale marked $19.99. Rang up $3.80!! No kidding. Must have been leftovers from last season. The cashier was laughing. I was grinning ear to ear. Gotta love that kinda surprise bargain.
