Can You Say "Rose Bowl"?

The Nittany Lions defied my expectations this week. They beat the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes, to make them 6-0 for the first time in many years. I didn't think they could do it, and they proved me wrong. It was a very exciting game to watch, even from the comfort of my bed, while my husband sat in the crowd of 109,000 in the rain screaming until his throat hurt. The silly man tailgated in the pouring rain from 7 am until the prime time game started. He joined the throng of revelers behind the ESPN Gameday crew, and cooked food and drank Captain and Coke with at least three other guys under a tiny canopy. 20,000 students all wore white to the game, planning to "White Out" Ohio State. Fans bounced up and down endlessly. After the game the fans rushed the field. Seeing the raucous crowd on TV I almost wished I was there.

But instead my garage sale got cancelled and I dragged the poor kid out into the rain to hit the gym, the mall, and to go to Outback with my mom. That last outing was not too bright, because it's a 40 minute drive on a clear day with no traffic and driving conditions were so trecherous, even driving extra slow I almost nailed the guardrail on the opposite side of the road. Plus it turned out Nathan was running a fever and did not cooperate in the resturant. I got home and put the kid to bed just as the game was starting, and stayed awake for the whole thing. Thankfully Mike arrived home safe and sound but exhausted today. He's off again on another trip tomorrow morning and then we fly to Nashville for a long weekend and a family wedding. I'm just happy to have my digital camera back. I was in withdrawal without it all week. More cute kid pics coming right up!
