What Happens When We Die?
Yes, this is my THIRD post of the day. I guess I'm inspired by my discussions with Bill about religion and politics. I was flipping the TV more than usual just now after the baby went to sleep because there was nothing on and found that Larry King Live is hosting a fascinating show called "What Happens After We Die?". He has six guests, all leaders of different faiths, sharing their point of view. He even has an atheist on, who called death a "nonsense word" because we can't know death because nothing happens afterwards, it's just the end. The evangelical pastor is debating with the rabbi about whether heaven is earned on a sliding scale, like passing an exam with a 67%, or if it is not earned because God requires a 100% and no one can live a 100% perfect life. Personally I prefer the knowledge that it is a gift and not earned becaue I don't have to go around worrying whether or not I'm living a good enough life to get in. I know for a fact where I'm headed, and that brings great peace and no fear of death.
