Can't you see that I'm SICK?!
For the first time since Nathan was born, I am really sick. At first I thought I caught a little cold from him, but last night I got a high fever with chills and body aches and I couldn’t move let alone carry a 20 lb. baby around. I couldn’t take Nyquil because I’m breastfeeding so I lay in bed sweating and shivering till sometime around 2am. My head and body were killing me so I knew I should take something but I didn’t want to get up and go downstairs. Then I remembered the Tylenol I put in my breastpump bag in my closet for when I was going to court back in the fall because testifying gave me a headache. That did the trick and I slept till 4 am when the baby woke me up for a bit and then I slept a little more till 7am. I managed to pull myself out of bed and get dressed awfully good thing because at 8am while on the phone with my mother who begged off coming to help the doorbell rang. I had forgotten the plumbers were coming. So for an hour we tried to find the cause of the hum on the water heater I had complained about. Of course it only made the noise for a few minutes and then we couldn’t get it to do it again and they gave up. I sent them away hoping for some peace and quiet. Pepper commenced barking out the front window and I noticed my neighbors had all kinds of heating company trucks out front. Then Pepper started flipping out at the back window and I noticed my other neighbor had a carpet cleaning van out front. My usually quiet street was hopping this morning! Then just as I was about to put Nathan down so I could get a nap another truck pulled into my driveway. SHOOT! Must be the stupid builder to fix the drywall that he was supposed to fix Wed but never showed up. He called later to say he was sick. Well I figured I’d wait to put Nathan down for his nap in case the builder was going to be loud. But he sat in my driveway in his truck for an eternity! 15 minutes or so on his phone! HURRY UP THE KID NEEDS A NAP! Finally he came to the door and explained that he had the flu on Wed. I promptly told him I had it now, and he took a big step back. He said the plumbers didn’t do a good job of explaining the noise problem and I told him that’s because they/I couldn’t find the source. He looked at the drywall cracks and said he’d come back Monday afternoon to fix them. GOOD, GET OUT! I shooed him away, put Nathan down, and took a nice little nap.
